Dan began his pastoral ministry by moving to Saskatchewan in 1987 to be a youth pastor for 4 years. After moving back to the Lower Mainland to pursue further education, Dan and his wife Sherry were involved with Parkview Baptist Church before becoming founding members of Southside Community Church in Burnaby. Dan was associate pastor there and enjoyed a rich and diverse 24-year ministry which included congregational leader, worship pastor and director of ministry in Albania. Arriving in Kelowna in 2016, the Bennetts became involved with First Baptist Church Kelowna.
Dan loves the “aha!” moments that come with being discipled and discipling others and has a deep interest in caring for creation. Along that line, Dan drives Teslas for his full-time job in Kelowna with Current Taxi. He enjoys cycling and hiking in the Okanagan, working on the yard and garden and sharing marshmallows and conversation with friends and neighbours around the fire.
The Bennetts have 3 children and 5 grandchildren who live in Kelowna and the Lower Mainland.
